1970s Rose Wood Sideboard / Credenza by Skovby Mobelfabrik of Denmark

This is a beautiful rose wood veneered sideboard or credenza made by the renowned Danish manufacturer Skovby Mobelfabrik in the early 1970s.  The minimalist simplicity of its design belies its two metre length, and the overall effect is sleek and graceful, with the rose wood delicately curved over the external edges of the top, sides and doors.  The left section contains five felt-lined drawers, the two central sections house a double width cupboard with adjustable shelf, and the end section houses two further adjustable shelves.

The piece is in great vintage condition, with all veneer present and looking rich and warm.  There are inevitably some fine surface scratches on the top, but these are only visible if you look for them, and are more than likely the result of years of polishing.  There is some wear at the very base of the plinth where it meets the floor, but this should not be noticeable once you have the piece positioned where you want it.

Overall this is a stunning piece of classic Danish design.
