19th Century Continental Style Chest of Drawers in Walnut
This charming chest of drawers was made in the 19th century, probably somewhere in continental Europe. The walnut veneer has a lovely rich patina, and a very distinctive grain pattern which adds real character to the piece, while the handles and escutcheons have a stylish simplicity which give this chest an air of compact minimalism.
The piece is in good solid order, with tight joints and smooth running drawers. The veneer on the front edge of the top has had a small unmatched repair at some point in the past, and also has some small un-repaired dents and chips, however these have aged to be far less obvious than the repaired area (see photos).
