Bauhaus Style Chair

The Bauhaus School was created in Germany in 1919 with the aim of bringing technology and design together to produce simple, well made products whose form follows their function.  Although the School was shut down by the Nazis in 1933, its influence on modern design has never really stopped and is clearly visible in the Mies van der Rohe-ish curves of this steel rod and faux leather chair.  In keeping with the Bauhaus ethos, the chair is strong, light but rigid and (crucially) really comfortable to sit on!
